Frequently Asked Questions

Everything libraries ask before their first pickup.

Is the pickup really free?

Yes. We never charge libraries for pickup, labor, hauling, or disposal. Reselling the usable books is what pays for the service, so there's no cost to your library.

What kinds of books do you take?

All of them. Hardcovers, paperbacks, reference sets, textbooks, bound journals, old editions, water-damaged and weeded stock, donated books, and Friends of the Library leftovers. We don't take the valuable titles and leave you the rest.

Do we have to sort, box, or count the books first?

No. You can if it's already done, but it's not required. Our crew handles the loading and hauling. A rough estimate of how much there is helps us plan the pickup.

How much volume can you handle?

Anything from a few carts to a whole library. We regularly clear out storage rooms, closing branches, and full overhauls measured in pallets and truckloads.

Do you offer one-time pickups or ongoing service?

Both. Some libraries use us for a single weeding project or a closure. Others set up a recurring schedule, quarterly or monthly or as needed, to keep withdrawn books moving out.

What happens to the books after pickup?

Every book gets looked at. The ones we can resell go back into circulation and reach new readers. Everything else gets recycled. Nothing goes to a landfill.

Where do you operate?

We serve libraries nationwide across all 50 states. Tell us your location when you reach out and we'll confirm pickup details for your area.

Do you serve school libraries?

We focus on public, college and university, and special or corporate libraries. We don't currently service elementary or high school libraries.

Do you pay for the books?

Our main service is free, no-cost removal. We take everything off your hands and do all the work. For large or high-value collections, reach out and we can talk through the options for your situation.
